SEPTEMBER PAYNE

September has performed solo and chamber music recitals in North America and Europe in such cities as: Calgary, Toronto and Montreal in Canada. In the US in Brattleboro VT, Waltham MA, Aspen CO, Boston MA, Eureka Springs AK, Houston TX, San Diego CA and in Europe performing contemporary music by American composers Rorem, Foss, Schwantner and Persichetti in Belgirate and Rome, Italy.

Her chamber Duo CANSonare, with Canadian pianist Dr. Jane Perkyns, championed Contemporary Canadian flute and piano repertoire with recitals at the Canadian Consulate in Houston to various collaborations featuring the music of Canadian composers with the art of the Canadian Group 7 painters in US cities.

Another one of her chamber groups, Duo Pastiche, with New Zealand Symphony Orchestra harpist Carolyn Mills, made their flute and harp debut at the Boston Museum of Art in 1986 with works by Ravel, Tomasi, Debussy, Glick, Persichetti, and Ned Rorem, going on to perform in other venues such as: Boston’s South Shore Conservatory, and in cities such as Houston and Denton TX. As well, September performed concertos of CPE Bach, the Mozart, Faure and Griffes Poem with orchestra.
